Current WIP count: 8
Lookit me, right down into single figures again! Although it’s slightly less good knowing that’s only because I’ve been too ill to do anything but crochet.
Sewing amigurumi together has become a hundred times easier and less stressful since discoveringย this method. I’m currently using it to sew together my brother’s third and final Christmas present; Bulbasaur.
I find it easier, and it looks so much neater than the method I was using before. I’m actually considering keeping my first squirtle and making another with this stitching for my brother, so they’ll all be as neat as each other.
There’s also the doily that I’ve been putting off for months, but have finally forced myself to work on. I really hope it’s eventually going to look half as good as I’m imagining. No photos, because it doesn’t look much like anything yet.
There are also a few things blocking so they’ll be ready in time for Friday. This might be the most productive FO Friday post I ever make! At least something useful has come of this flippin everlasting virus.
What’s everyone else working on? Let me know in the comments!

It was a massive lightbulb moment for me, but then I do hate sewing things together!

Isn’t it! I really wish I’d done my research before finishing Squirtle so I could have done him this way as well

Thanks ๐ it’s just so good, I’m a bit cack-handed when it comes to sewing together but even I picked it up straight away

Wow you’re amazing for keeping track of eight projects at one time!

Ahaha if by ‘keeping track’ you mean ‘having them on a list and staring at said list in the hope they’ll finish themselves’ then yes, I’m very good at it ๐

Oh I hope you are feeling better! I love the colour of this one!

It’s a very stubborn virus so getting over it is a slooooow process, but I know I’ll get there eventually ๐
I’m still dithering a bit about the colours. Sometimes I think they’re perfect, then I worry that the body colour is too dark, then that the bulb is too light. This one’s proving the most difficult!

As your wip number goes down, mine is going up!! I hope you’re feeling better. I was annoyed because I’m starting to come down with a cold that my hubby had last week but then I read this and thought – okay if I get sick I can just lay on the couch and crochet all day!!! Now I’m looking forward to being sick! ๐ ๐ ๐

It’s totally worth it ๐ Sorry you’re getting a cold, I hope it’s not too bad and clears off quickly!

Thanks Hannah. My plan for the next few days is to load up on cold medicine, bundle up on the couch, eat soup and crochet until I feel better. ๐

It’s a little sad that I’m kind of looking forward to being sick so I can have a mini-vacation LOL!!!

I’m always amazed when I see the amount of your ongoing projects! 2 is the maximum that I can handle, otherwise I’m feeling overwhelmed and stressed out.
Hope you’re feeling better already or soon!

I’ve bought a book about this amigurumi crochet thing and …. I haven’t done anything about as yet, but … I want to.
I’m rubbish at crochet and a friend suggested I try amigurumi as she thought it would be easier for me to get along with. So … got the book. Got the wool. Got the hook. Waiting for the required chutzpah to turn up which will make me say “get on with it and just do it”.
Don’t hold your breath Hannah. I fear you may pass out.

Hmmm I’ve never heard amigurumi called easier before! Maybe if you went for something really big; it’s the fiddly little-ness of the parts that can make it awkward. Tell you what, you give amis a go and I’ll have a try at tag art ๐

Thanks for the link. I make a lot of toys and it’s always good to have a better method for doing something you do a lot.
