I’ve said it on the socials and now I’m saying it here:
Much as we might like it to be, the crafting community is not a nice little bubble where everyone is equal and catered for and safe. So any step taken to make it safer for those who really need it, particularly by a giant like Ravelry, is a big plus in my books.
I know some people are deleting their accounts, and I may even lose some followers for posting this, which is fair enough if you really disagree so strongly. But after they’ve all gone Ravelry will still be there, and it will be that much better for marginalised people who need all the support and safe spaces they can get.
So I’m with you, Ravelry.
