In my rush to get the Lego blanket finished on time I left out the ring of bricks around the edge that I had planned.
But that decision was made after I’d finished making all the bricks, plus a few extras because apparently I can’t count, so I had 48 Lego bricks all stacked up on the sofa with nowhere to go. What to do with them?
There was always frogging, but I couldn’t bear the thought of 1. undoing all my work and 2. adding 48 little scrap balls back into my stash. I had to use them for something. So of course I made a baby Lego blanket!
It was a bit on the small side with just a sc border so I went for an extension of the bobble stitches again, which had the added bonus of using up some of the extra Rose Red I ordered after my yarn mix-up.
Now it’s just the right size, and I have to decide what to do with it. It’s far too pretty to go to the cat charity (and I don’t know if they’d accept the bobbles), but I can’t think of any friends having a baby any time soon. Any suggestions?

I love it! Do you have the storage room to keep it until someone you know has a baby?

Hmmm I could. I’ll just have to remember where I put it if/when that happens!

Great way to use up those extra squares. I don’t think it needs to go to a baby. I think any kid would love it. Do you know any older kids?

I don’t really know any children (which is just the way I like it), but it’s a bit small for bigger ones anyway. It would be more of a pram blanket for a baby, it’s so wee.

That’s adorable! I hope you find a good home for it! Maybe donate to a local women’s/family shelter?

Argh another good idea! I might have to put them all in a hat and pick one out!

Fabulous! Could you donate it to a local charity for them to raffle?

I also have that problem of making things and not knowing what to do with them…my cats end up with a lot of blankets as a result and not always cheap ones 😀

It would definitely belong to my cat if I had one! I wonder if the cat charity would accept it…

What an awesome use of leftovers. Um I’m with Emma – I too make things sometimes that don’t have a home immediately! If you have space to keep it, it may be useful for a time when you need a quick gift!

I do have a box of makes that I could add it to. I’m just a bit worried that I’ll clear out my yarn stash, only to have it still sitting around my flat as finished objects with no home!
