Sock it to me Monday 2

Look – I’m getting somewhere!

Apologies for the photo quality.

I don’t think I’ve ever used such teeny tiny needles before, but they’re still chugging along fast enough that I’m not losing interest.

One thing worries me at the moment. I’m making the largest size the pattern offers, and I met gauge, but this looks like it would never fit me in a million years. Am I being paranoid? Is this just what happens with socks and they’ll fit fine in the end? I didn’t think I had particularly big feet…

  1. Is that ribbing? How many stitches on what size needle? I normally use a 2.5mm needle with 64 stitches for my 8 inch circumference feet. I do have small feet but they’re a bit wide. If you can pull that onto your foot you’ll have an idea how the width will be.
It looks great! I love that yarn:)

  2. Don’t fret, I bet they’ll be fine! I use 64 stitches on 2.25mm needles and they fit my size 9 1/2 feet just fine. People see me knitting socks and are always amazed that they can stretch enough to fit an adult foot!

  3. So long as you did a stretchy cast on, which I think you did from the photo, you should be ok I imagine. I do 64 stitches on size 2mm needles and they look like dolls socks at the ribbing stage, and once the heel is in they fit fine. They are for my UK size 3 feet.
