My annual birthday CAL

I mean it’s only the second year I’ve done a Coastal Crochet CAL for my birthday, but I would love it to become an actual tradition.

This year we’re working in squares, which I’m excited about.

This is as much as I’ve done because of course I got mixed up and read the UK terms, even after double checking that I was using the US ones, so my first attempt was twice the size it should’ve been. Ugh.

One day I’m going to get a project right first time. Maybe…

  1. And precisely when is your birthday ?
That looks like it’s going to be delightful.
As for mistakes, I (she said, unable to not change the subject to herself) have a theory about the way I work: as I appear to be incapable of reading through the whole pattern before I begin anything, I doubt that I’ve ever started one without discovering, too late !, that I’m doing something wrong.
You may be the Wizard of WIPs, but I’m the Earl of Erroneous Entireties. [grin]

    1. It’s today!
That is a fabulous title and I would wear it with pride if I were you. I may have to get Wizard of WIPs on a tshirt.
Do people actually read patterns all the way through before using them? Maybe I should try that (she says, knowing full well that she will never bother).

        1. He has a name, but I don’t know if he wants it used on my blog so I’m erring on the side of caution!
Thanks for the birthday wishes πŸ™‚ We couldn’t go out, obviously, but the bf did make me one of my favourite meals and got some candles out so it was still quite lovely.

  2. In the last five years I’ve done almost 100 projects and I can tell you that I don’t think there’s one single project that I haven’t had to restart. Once I read it an entire sweater three times. Why? I ask myself why all the time, LOL
