Unicorns and snowflakes

Look at the little goodie pack that arrived from Sarah Jane this week!

I love the modified card 😀

This little pretty was a reward for sharing my favourite bit of advice:

That’s handmade, isn’t it amazing! It’s so teeny.

I was not expecting a bunch of other stitch markers as well. And they’re unicorns! And rainbows! Two of my favourite things!

I’m currently resisting the urge to cast on allofthethings so I can use them all, but we’ll see how long that lasts. I do have a monster stash to use up after all.

Thanks Sarah Jane, I love them!

Happy Mothers Day

My Mum doesn’t like receiving big, fancy, or expensive presents, for any occasion. We’re actually not allowed to give her anything but a card for her birthdays. But I very much enjoy giving presents to people, especially when I just know they’re going to love it. So I have to get creative (literally) when it comes to Mum.

I always make her card myself so even without a gift, I’ve spent time and effort on something special. This year I went for a super cute catty card designed by Eleonora of Coastal Crochet.

I don’t know why my camera picked up those glue lines, they weren’t visible in real life…

The original design is in very bright hot colours, but blue is Mum’s favourite colour and forget-me-nots are a reminder of Grandma (her mum) so I went with that instead. I also had a much smaller card base, or maybe much thicker yarn, so I had to turn the card landscape and just use a few flowers.

I still like it though.

I hope all the mums out there had a happy Mothers Day!
