Starting WIP count: 7
Having decided it would be good to go into 2019 with as clear a WIP list as possible, I had a good hard look at the list and made some decisions.
WIP 1: lacy scarf
This has been sitting in my WIP drawer for several months. And by several months I mean over a year. I’m clearly not feeling it, so I frogged the whole thing and caked the yarn so it’s ready for a more enthusing project.
WIP 2: Knitted blanket
This has also been lying around for months (although not as long as the scarf) waiting for me to add a third colour. But, being realistic, it’s a charity blanket for cats; they don’t care how many colours it has. So I cast off and packaged it up ready to go to the cat shelter this weekend.
WIP 3: Roses for Grandma.
This one stays. I’ve collected everything into one project bag so I have a better idea of my progress and I don’t have to hunt around for the right yarn every time I come back to it.
WIP 4: Furls crochet-along skirt
I’m still dithering over this one, it may yet be frogged and abandoned. It just takes so many tiny stitches to get around my hips!
WIP 5: Mittens
These should be finished by tomorrow so I can cross them off too.
WIP 6: Sunrise Scarf
This one’s a Christmas present so will be finished before 2019 rolls around.
WIP 7: dragon
My dragon is now a drake. I gave up on the wings and stuffed the parts so now it just needs sewing together.
Final WIP count by new year: 2 (possibly 1 if I bin the skirt).
That’s a clean enough slate for me! Of course I’m making a few Christmas presents this year so the count will go up again before it comes down, but I’m confident that I can slide into 2019 with only a couple of projects on the go.
Which will leave me with tons of space on the WIP list to start exciting new projects! Hooray!
