Be careful what you wish for

Earlier this week I was frustrated after having to frog the Whirl blanket for ar least the sixth time. I thought, if only I could have a chunk of time with no distractions to really focus on it and get past whatever silly mistake I was making.

At the end of that work day my manager told me they were letting me go, effective immediately. Suddenly, I have all the time in the world.

I am so disappointed that the house/wedding will likely have to wait even longer now, and I’m not looking forward to interviews or being the newbie AGAIN, but I have to say this is the least anxious I’ve been for months and months.

Plus I’m now onto the text part of the Whirl blanket, with no more than a few stitches needing to be tinked along the way. Bright side.

Sock it to me Monday – whatever number we’re up to

Well today is already A Day. I just found out I’m going to be made redundant for the second time in as many years. It’s enough to give a girl a complex.

The good news is I finished my million step challenge on Saturday, four days earlier than scheduled, because I wanted to finish in one of my favourite places and with the boyfriend (he works weekdays now).

That’s my victory pose when I realised I’d made it. Which I have to tell you here because apparently photo captions aren’t a thing any more -_-

My feet and legs are still a bit sore today, but I know it was worth it to raise some money for Diabetes UK .

If anyone is feeling particularly generous and wants to sponsor someone they’ve never met in real life (and cheer me up a bit), you can find my page here.

Thanks to the 20,000+ steps each day last week, there’s not a great deal of sock progress to show. I’m just beginning the toe on my second Hermione sock, and have only done a few rows on the Diagon Ally pair. Cue I-just-found-out-I’m-losing-my-job-quality photos:

So that’s me.
